Social Media Manager

Description:

The Monroe Art League, a 501(c) non-profit group, is looking for someone to help keep our social media pages up to date! This includes Facebook and Instagram specifically. The ideal candidate will have experience with Facebook and Instagram and post content to each site. The person in this role will work with the creator of the MAL website as well as the board and members to ensure that our social media pages remain up to date with the latest activities, classes, field trips, shows, and other content that boosts the online presence of the Monroe Art League. This is a 5-10 hour per month internship that requires you have access to a computer or smartphone, the internet, a camera capable of both still images and video, and email and text.

 

Intern Responsibilities Include:

·      Keeping the presentation of our Facebook and Instagram page professional, concise, and engaging

·      Consistently posting content that helps boost our engagement with the public (our events, classes, demonstrators, and other art-based videos, images, and links)

·      Taking pictures of events, classes, demonstrators, etc. OR acquiring them from members who were present at various events via email or text to post on Facebook and Instagram

·      Writing information pertaining to the various events, classes, demonstrators on Facebook and Instagram as well as linking information for people to click on

·      Other information as needed (the president will keep you apprised of this information)

 

Intern Qualifications / Skills:

  • Verbal and written communication
  • Organization
  • Experience of Facebook and Instagram content posting
  • Capability to attend events the MAL does OR acquire successfully images and descriptions from attendees
  • Knowledge of social media trends and content
  • Critical thinking

 

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

If you know your way around Facebook, Instagram, understand social media trends and tagging systems, and have a willingness to learn, ask questions, and seek help when needed, you are eligible for this internship.

 

Work Hours & Benefits:

           This is a 5-10 hour per month position (done when asked) that will be offering a Lifetime Membership to the Monroe Art League to the person who is awarded the role. It lasts for 1 year (and will be open each January for application). If you have previously had the role and already gained membership, you may stay on for an additional year to help the incoming individual.
