The Monroe Art League's field trips offer you a chance to stretch your legs, and imagination, and take fun, socialized trips to local spots in Michigan and Ohio so you can get the best views, supplies, and conversation!
Know Before You Go
FOR MONROE ART LEAGUE MEMBERS ONLY!
The MAL's field trips will always meet at the same location before heading out to the destination!
Once everyone is accounted for, we'll caravan to our destination!
(While we can provide a ride to the location of the field trip, you will need to find your own ride to the meeting spot!)
Toledo Art Museum
Date: Saturday, August 8th 2026

Though under major renovation, the Toledo Museum of Art remains open for visitors to learn, explore, and create. For this field trip, we will be focusing on the glass blowing center as much of the Green Building galleries will be closed.

Matthaei Botanical Gardens

Located less than an hour from Detroit, Matthaei Botanical Gardens offers one of Southeast Michigan's most diverse collections of gardens, trails, and indoor plant displays. Whether you're planning a day trip, looking for free family-friendly activities, or exploring Michigan's public gardens, Matthaei Botanical Gardens provides a year-round experience.

Erie Orchard & Cider Mill

The perfect time to visit an apple orchard is during the height of their season--in the fall! And what better way to spend an October afternoon than at our very own Erie Orchard & Cider Mill.
This weekend is their Pumpkin Festival, so expect lots of people, plenty of cider and donuts, and tents of crafters for the event!
Bring your kids, grandkids, and yourself and pick some apples, experience the color changing of the leaves, and pet the animals!

SCRAP Creative Reuse Ann Arbor

Let's try this again! Scrap Creative Reuse is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to inspire creative reuse and environmentally sustainable behavior by providing educational programs and affordable materials to the community.
Bring your own scraps to donate and expect to get stuff that you can use for future projects!
