I bring two project for the class to work on. They are my own compositions that I developed for paintings in my class. I will be teaching how I get started, blocking in colors, working with values, glazing layers, while all the time, talking/teaching composition.
I am a hands-on instructor! In all my years of working in the field of art/illustrations, top-not artists would come to see what I was working on and say, "slide over, let show you how to do what you're doing in a better way!"
Being a visual artist, I learned better this way, watching what they were doing. It was priceless, and way better than just being told what to do!
I say this because over the years of teaching, some people would rather be told what to do while others like to see visually how it's done. I will respect everyone's wishes!
