It's Been A Long, Long Time

It's been a long time coming, through twists and turns; ups and downs and more obsticles than there are brushes in a car wash.

But it's finally here!

The new Monroe Art League website is live and available to all who connect to the world wide web!

Of course, there is still much to be done. There will be much to add, and much to fix, in the next coming weeks as things get tested out and played with. We're all on a learning curve over here in webmaster land, so I ask that you exercise a little patience as the bugs get smoothed out!

But! In case you missed the in-person demonstration, or need a visual reminder of everything, allow me to break down the basics of the website here.

Home: Our home page is just that. It's an introduction, and has links to our most important pages. In the future, I also hope to include prominate articles, accolades, and some more of our member's beautiful art!

About: The about page covers the history of the Monroe Art League, about the classes and programs we have, as well as (eventually) all our social media apps and info!

Join: Just like it says, this is where people can sign up to join the MAL! It includes information that they need to know about signing up, as well as what it costs and how they can remain a member in Good Standing. And if you need to check into it every-so-often to remind yourself of how much your dues are, or how to keep your Good Standing placement...feel free to check in!

Blog: Hey! You're there now! Congrats! The blog page will have all the blog posts I make, which are important, since that's where a lot of current news is going to be featured! You can also search the blog for specific dates as well, so it's extra helpful if you miss a monthly meeting!

Events: Sign up for classes, check out MAL field trips, and see when other fun things happen! The calendar is first, followed by informational links and sign-up sheets.

Members: Check out of Member of the Month, pay your dues online (or donate a few extra bucks, if you're feeling generous), and learn more about our wonderful members while checking out their artwork!

Policies: Can't remember who's on the board? That's what this page is for! Need more info on our by-laws? They're all there, written out for you to scroll through!

Contact: Got a question? Comment? Thought, feeling, concern? This is where you ask them! And quicker than it takes paint to dry, you'll get a responce!

That's about it for the run down of the menus and pages! If you're wondering what the icons are on the top right of the page, let me help!

The square with the circle inside is our Instagram account. It'll be full of pictures and information for those that have Instagram. It's especially helpful for younger members to get information about the MAL!

The lower-case F is our Facebook page! We're still working on getting this page sorted out, so (as of the writing of this post), it's link doesn't work. Soon, though, it will, and people can like and follow our page to get the best views of what's currently happening with the League!

The double P is our Paypal account. This is hooked up to the MAL's funds, so it's easy to pay dues, give a donation, or, later, pay for artwork (if needed). Only catch is right now you need a Paypal account to use it, but soon in the future I'll figure out how you can use it with credit card, Venmo, or even a check!

Now. I think I've covered just about all of the basics that I can at this point. Of course, if you see something that looks off, or if my wording isn't up to snuff (it should be, I didn't put myself $75,000 in debt for an English degree for nothing..but then again, I'm only human...), feel free to hit that Contact link and let us know, so we can change it right away.
