         The Monroe Art League meets on the fourth Tuesday of every month
               at 6 p.m. at the United Way Building, 216 N. Monroe Street,  Monroe MI.

(Exceptions are: June (Summer picnic and December (Christmas Party)

    (A Special thanks to United Way of Monroe County for hosting our meetings)

               This will be our Summer Picnic !  

                                It will be at Veteran’s Park:   Veteran’s Park is located west of Telegraph Road on the north side of the River Raisin. 
                                     Veteran’s Park includes paved parking for approximately 75 cars, restrooms, picnic tables, benches, a drinking fountain,
                                      picnic shelters and several cooking grills. Some picnic shelters and tables are handicapped accessible. Shore fishing and
                                      places to view wild life along the river are also available.   The site includes flag poles and monuments honoring
                                      World War I/II and Korean War Veterans.  Monuments were recently constructed to honor soldiers of the
                                      Gulf War and the current War on Terror.  Plein Air painting anyone?

                                    We have reserved the shelter closest to the fire station.

                                     The club will provide hot dogs, paper plates & utensils and  beverages. 
                                     Please bring a dish to pass, a comfortable chair and your better half or a guest (if so desired). 

                                     If you were unable to attend the May 23rd meeting to sign up for a dish to pass, please call
                                        Linda Rutledge  (734-243-6196)     (or email at:  to let her know how many will be

is showing at Ellis Library and Reference Center

              Art display by local artists, with art depicting early
              Frenchtown themes and the 1812 Battle of the River Raisin.

            Music In St. Mary's Park:
                    Join Art League Members on Thursdays until August 4th.
                    Come and paint while you listen to some great music.
                    From 7 pm until the music ends, or when you run out of paint.


            First Fridays: 
                Art League Members have been invited to Plein Air paint
                    outside of Cravings Ice Cream during First Fridays.
                Usually start around 5 pm. 
                Come paint and stay as long as you like.

Spot Shows
                 Are for three months. 

                    For the Summer, Spot Shows will continue with the same artists
                    until October with a request you change out your artwork at least
                    once during the summer. 
                     (Ideally it would be every month or so to keep the displays fresh.)
